Very delicious spicy fish fry.

Meen varuval/ fish fry

Ingredients to make Meen varuval/ fish fry

  • Red snapper fish pieces -5 -6 (300 gm)
  • red chilli powder -1 and 1/2 to 2 tsp
  • turmeric,Pepper,cumin powder- each 1/2 tsp
  • ginger garlic paste -1 tsp
  • lemon juice- 2 tsp
  • salt - to taste.
  • coconut oil or peanut oil -3-4 tbsp
  • For garnish lemon wedges,onion slices and fried curry leaves.

How to make Meen varuval/ fish fry

  1. CLEAN FISH PIECES,RINSE AND DRAIN IT.
  2. CHILLI POWDER2 TSP,1TSPGINGERGARLICPASTE,TURMERICPEPPER&CUMINPOWDER-EACH1/2TSP,2TSPLIME JUICE,SALT
  3. MARINATE THE FISH PIECES WITH MASALA FOR ATLEAST 1/2 -1 HOUR.CHECK SALT.
  4. HEAT 4TBSP COCONUT OIL IN A SHALLOW FRY PAN.
  5. FRY IN HIGH FLAME FOR 2 MINUTE.
  6. TURN AND FRY IN MEDIUM FLAME.
  7. TURN AGAIN AND FRY BOTH SIDES GOLDEN BROWN.
  8. NOW READY.
  9. DRAIN THE EXCESS OIL IN A KITCHEN TISSUE PAPER.
  10. SERVE WITH LEMON WEDGES AND ONION SLICES.
