About Maruya. Recipe

This is a Philipino dish, almost like Kerala banana fry. Difference , i found, we never add eggs in batter & we make each piece separately, but they make two or three pieces together.

Maruya.

Ingredients to make Maruya.

  • banana 3, cut into two lengthwise
  • maida 3/4 cup
  • egg 1
  • Brown sugar or white sugar 2 tbsp or according to taste
  • salt and pinch
  • oil to deep fry.

How to make Maruya.

  1. Beat egg well adding sugar
  2. Then add maida. Mix well without lumps. Then add some water just enough to make thick pouring consistency batter.
  3. Heat a pan with oil.
  4. Dip two pieces of bananas in the batter. Then place in oil side by side. Pour some batter in between the bananas & all sides to make it one piece.
  5. When one side is cooked , turn it. Cook the other side well.
  6. Remove & drain oil with tissue. Sprinkle some sugar on top.

My Tip:

They make with 3 pieces also & making it one ,with batter.Cut banana into 2 slices. Take small type banana.
