About Banana Stem Dosa Recipe

I learnt this Dosa recipe which can be made without fermentation , from my mother in law. She makes it at least twice a month since Plantain stem is very good for health and adding that to dosa is one of the interesting way to make the kids to eat this healthy vegetable. The very soft and white dosas with crunchy bites of the plantain stem in between gives fantastic feel...

How to make Banana Stem Dosa

  1. Wash the rice and urad dal and soak in water for 3 to 4 hours.
  2. Drain the water out and add the soaked stuff to the blender jar.
  3. Wash the poha and add it to the jar.
  4. Add required salt and grind.
  5. When half is done add the curd to the jar and grind to fine batter. If needed add water. Let the batter be in the consistency of idli batter.
  6. Keep it aside for an hour.
  7. Add finely chopped Plantain stem to the batter and mix well.

  9. Heat a Dosa tawa and grease it. Pour a ladle of batter on the tawa and made dosas.
  10. Drizzle few drops of oil. Cook on both sides and serve.

My Tip:

While making dosa pepper powder can be tossed on it.
