One of the recipes often made by my grandmother when sudden guests arrived.Simple but tasty dish prepared from tomatoes and sev.

Ingredients to make Sev tameta nu shaak

  • tomatoes 4(chopped)
  • oil 1 tbsp
  • mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
  • cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • asafoetida 1 pinch
  • curry leaves 10
  • ginger 1/2 inch
  • Green chilli 1
  • turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander cumin powder 1 tsp
  • sugar 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • coriander 1 tbsp
  • Sev 3/4 cup

How to make Sev tameta nu shaak

  1. TAKE 1 TBSP OIL IN PAN.
  2. ADD 1/2 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS AND CUMIN SEEDS EACH.
  3. ADD 8-10 CURRY LEAVES.
  4. ADD 1 TSP GINGER CHILLI PASTE.
  5. ADD A PINCH OF ASAFOETIDA.
  6. ADD 4 CHOPPED TOMATOES.
  7. ADD 1/2 TSP TURMERIC,1 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER.
  8. ADD 1 TSP CORIANDER CUMIN POWDER.
  9. ADD SALT TO TASTE AND 1 TSP SUGAR.
  10. MIX WELL AND COOK COVERED TILL TOMATOES BECOME MUSHY.
  11. ADD A TBSP OF WATER.
  12. WHEN THE TOMATOES ARE COOKED,ADD 3/4 CUP OF SEV AND A TBSP OF CORIANDER.SWITCH OFF GAS.
