About Green Gravy with Soy Milk Recipe

Green Gravy with Soy Milk is rich in dietary fiber , folic acid and low in fat. It boosts metabolism , a significant store of vitamin C is present in green peas that helps in supporting our immune system. It can be served as a side dish with roti, rice and bread.

Green Gravy with Soy Milk

Ingredients to make Green Gravy with Soy Milk

  • Green peas ( soaked and boiled ) – 1 Cup
  • Greens ( Any ) – 2 to 3 Cups
  • Cinammon – 1/2 inch
  • cloves – 2
  • green chilly – 2 to 3
  • Finely Chopped onion – 1/2 Cup
  • Dry mango slices ( amchur ) { or } Lemon Juice – 2 tablespoon
  • cardamom – 1
  • Soy Milk – 3/4 Cup
  • salt to taste
  • oil – 2 tablespoon

How to make Green Gravy with Soy Milk

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Saute the greens for 2 minutes or until they turn tender. Add salt and mix well. Turn off the flame. Keep it aside to attain a room temperature.
  2. In a dry mixie jar, make a smooth paste of the sauted greens.
  3. Heat oil in another pan over a medium flame. Add the spices , sliced onions and chopped green chilly. Fry till the sliced onions turn translucent.
  4. Now transfer the prepared paste and amchur/lemon juice into the hot pan. Saute for a second and add the boiled peas to it. Allow it to cook for 2 more minutes.
  5. Pour soy milk to the above mix and add salt to it. Allow it to cook over a low flame.
  6. Once the gravy thickens turn off the flame and transfer it into a serving bowl.
  7. Serve hot with roti/rice or bread.

My Tip:

I used Malabar Spinach , you can opt any greens ..
