Chukandar do pyaza

Ingredients to make Chukandar do pyaza

  • 2 medium size Beetroot chopped
  • 2 medium size onion finely chopped
  • 1 tspn crushed garlic
  • 1 tspn grated ginger
  • 1/3 tspn turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tspn red chilli powder
  • 1 tspn garam masala powder
  • 1 tspn coriander powder
  • 1 bayleaf
  • 1 black cardamom
  • 1 green cardamom
  • 2 cloves
  • 6-7 Black pepper
  • 1 tblspn curd
  • salt to taste
  • oil

How to make Chukandar do pyaza

  1. Heat the oil in a cooker and add whole spices. Now add crushed garlic and ginger fry well.
  2. Add chopped onions and fry  few minutes.
  3. Add chopped beetroot and fry well.
  4. Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt saute on a medium flame.
  5. Add curd and mix properly. Fry till oil separate from the masala.
  6. Now add 1/2 cup water, and cover the lid. After one whistle turn the flame on sim and cook about 5-6 minutes. Turn off the flame.
  7. Now chukandar do pyaza is ready to serve.
  8. Enjoy with rice or parathas.
