ABOUT Surprise heart cake RECIPE

Have made this recipe where there are two hearts seen after being cut into pieces. They indicate two hearts bound together in love!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For cake from which heart shape is to be cut:
  2. 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp Maida
  3. 50 g Butter
  4. 100 ml milkmaid
  5. 1/4 cup strawberry crush and beetroot juice (50-50)
  6. 1/2 tsp Vanilla essence
  7. 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  8. 1/4 tsp Baking soda
  9. 1/2 tbsp Sugar
  10. Outer part of the cake with cocoa powder:
  11. 1/2 cup Maida
  12. 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  13. 50 g Butter
  14. 100 ml milkmaid
  15. 1/4 cup water
  16. 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  17. 1/4 tsp Baking soda
  18. 1/2 tsp Chocolate essence
  19. 1/2 tbsp Sugar
  20. Sugar balls for decoration

Instructions

  1. For the cake from which heart shape is to be cut: pre-heat oven at 180°C
  2. Sift the dry ingredients. Mix all the wet ingredients and microwave it for about a min.
  3. Add the dry ingredients together wet ingredients in 3 parts.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased vessel and bake it for about half 25 mins
  5. Since i haven't used any colour the baked cake turned out a bit light brown. Let the cake cool down on a wire rack. Cut heart shape using cookie cutter.
  6. Chocolate cake outer part: Pre-heat oven at 180°C.
  7. Sift the dry ingredients. Mix all the wet ingredients and microwave for about a min.
  8. Add the dry ingredients together wet ingredients in 3 parts. Now in a greased baking vessel pour a thin layer of the chocolate batter.
  9. Now place two lines of heart shape above it.
  10. Place the heart shape in each line tightly stacked
  11. Cover both the lines of heart with chocolate batter properly.
  12. Decorate it with sugar balls and bake it for 25 mins.
  13. Let the cake cool on a wire rack. Your surprise heart cake is ready to slice.
  14. The taste of the cake is yummm...
  15. Use red gel colour if you wish to have bright red colour.
