ABOUT Palak Paneer RECIPE

Easy peasy quick palak paneer. Fresh spinach puree seasoned with garlic, onion and garam masala make it a flavoursome curry which goes well with rotis, phulkas, naans or pulavs.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Fresh spinach leaves-400 gms
  2. Paneer - 250 gms
  3. Green Chilli - 1
  4. Garlic - 4 to 5 cloves
  5. Onion-1
  6. Tomatoe - 1
  7. Spices:
  8. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  9. Garam masala powder - 3/4 tsp
  10. Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  11. Ghee-2 to 3 tsps
  12. Water to blanch spinach leaves
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Water for gravy-1/2 to 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Pluck the stems out and Wash fresh spinach leaves with some salt water.
  2. Blanch in sufficient water for 2 to 3 minutes. Strain
  3. Immerse in cold water and remove.
  4. Grind with a green chilli and keep aside
  5. Add ghee to a sauce pan. Add the chopped garlic. Saute.
  6. Add finely chopped onion and saute till transperant.
  7. Add the tomatoes, spice powders with some salt. Mix, cover and cook till mushy.
  8. Now add the palak puree. Add water if required. Mix and Simmer for 10 minutes. Add the garam masala powder and check for seasoning. Add salt if required.
  9. Add paneer peices and continue simmering for another 5 minutes.
  10. Palak paneer is ready
