Sothi

Ingredients to make Sothi

  • coconut milk - 1 st extract - 1 cup
  • coconut milk - 2 nd extract - 1/2 cup
  • onion - 1
  • Beans - 5
  • potato - 1
  • mustard seeds
  • curry leaves
  • moong dal - 1/2 cup
  • salt
  • oil
  • turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • To grind
  • green chilly 2
  • ginger 1/2 inch
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp

How to make Sothi

  1. Steam cook the vegetables carrot and potato,beans for 5 -10 min over medium flame and keep aside.
  2. Cook the moong dal and keep aside. Grind the items ( Ginger, Cumin seeds, green chilly ) and keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and curry leaves then add onion and saute for 2 min.
  4. Add ginger, green chilly paste and keep saute to 1 min.
  5. Add cooked veg,salt mix well and cook for 2-3 min.
  6. Add cooked moong dal, 2nd extracted coconut milk, turmeric powder and cook for 2 min .
  7. Switch off the flame and add first extracted coconut milk.
