Green Gram Veggie Palya

Ingredients to make Green Gram Veggie Palya

  • 2 Tablespoons oil
  • Few methi leaves
  • 1/4 cup whole green gram
  • 2 Medium onions
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 capsicum
  • 1 tumor cabbage (gedde kosu)
  • 1 chayote (seeme badanekai)
  • Few Beans
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 or 1&1/2 teaspoon sambar powder
  • water

How to make Green Gram Veggie Palya

  1. FINELY CHOP 2 MEDIUM ONIONS, VEGETABLES AND METHI LEAVES.
  2. IN A COOKER ADD 2 TABLESPOONS OIL. HEAT IT ON A MEDIUM FLAME.
  3. ADD IN FINELY CHOPPED METHI LEAVES.
  4. FRY NICELY.
  5. ADD IN A SMALL CUP OF WHOLE GREEN GRAM. (SAY ABOUT 1/4 CUP).
  6. FRY ON A LOW FLAME FOR COUPLE OF MINUTES.
  7. ADD IN FINELY CHOPPED ONIONS, FRY ON A LOW FLAME.
  8. ADD IN VEGETABLES - CARROT, BEANS, CAPSICUM, TENDER APRICOT, TUMOR CABBAGE. FRY NICELY.
  9. ONCE VEGETABLES ARE FRIED NICELY, ADD IN 2 MEDIUM TOMATOES FINELY CHOPPED.
  10. ADD A TEASPOON OF SALT OR AS PER TASTE.
  11. ADD 1 OR 1&1/2 TEASPOON OF SAMBAR POWDER.
  12. ADD SUFFICIENT WATER TO COOK. MIX WELL.
  13. CLOSE THE LID.
  14. COOK FOR 2 WHISTLES OR UNTIL DONE.
  15. ONCE DONE OPEN THE LID, CHECK FOR THE SEASONING, ADJUST IF NECESSARY AND SERVE.
