Ingredients to make Paruppu koottu

  • Toor dal : 1 cup
  • tomato : 1
  • Brinjal : 1
  • Green chilli 1
  • Red chilli 1
  • turmeric Powder ½ tsp
  • cumin seeds : ½ tsp
  • mustard seeds ½ tsp
  • garlic 5
  • oil 2 tsp
  • curry leaves

How to make Paruppu koottu

  1. In a Pressure cooker add toor dal, tomato, green chillies, garlic, brinjal, water and cook for 15 min over medium flame.
  2. Transfer the dal into another pan add turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt and mix well.
  3. Cook for 3 mins
  4. Heat oil in a pan add mustard, cumin seeds.
  5. Let them crackle for a minute and add red chilli, curry leaves and add it to the above dal
