A very easy and onion based gravy.

Bengoli style Tilapia curry

Ingredients to make Bengoli style Tilapia curry

  • Tilapia fish 4 pcs
  • mustard oil 2 tbsp
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • cumin powder 1 tsp
  • salt as per taste
  • red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Sliced onion 2 medium
  • Chopped garlic 1 tsp
  • cumin seeds ½ tsp
  • Garam masala powder 1 tsp

How to make Bengoli style Tilapia curry

  1. Marinade the fish pieces with a pinch of turmeric powder and ½tsp salt.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai and fry the marinated fish pieces.
  3. In a another pan heat 2 tsp oil. Add cumin seeds. Saute.
  4. Add sliced onion, chopped garlic and keep stirring.
  5. Add cumin powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and a little bit of water. Cook for 5-6 mins.
  6. Add 1 cup water to it. Give it a nice boil.
  7. Add fried fish pieces. Cook for 5 mins with lid.
  8. Sprinkle some garam masala over it.
  9. Serve hot with steamed rice.
