ABOUT Homemade Bourbon Biscuits RECIPE

The Bourbon biscuit  sometimes referred to as a Bourbon cream is a sandwich style biscuit consisting of two thin rectangular dark chocolate–flavoured biscuits with a chocolate buttercream filling.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 100 gm All Purpose Flour
  2. 5 tbsp powdered Sugar
  3. 1 tsp Honey
  4. 4 tbsp cocoa powder
  5. 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  6. 1/4 Tsp baking soda
  7. 50 gm softened Butter
  8. 4-5 tbsp Milk for kneading
  9. FOR CHOCOLATE FILLING:
  10. 1/2 cup icing Sugar
  11. 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  12. 2 tbsp Butter
  13. 1 tsp milk

Instructions

  1. SIEVE 100 GMS FLOUR, 1/2 TSP BAKING POWDER, 1/4 TSP BAKING SODA
  2. ADD 4 TBSP COCOA POWDER, KEEP ASIDE
  3. TAKE 50 GMS BUTTER, ADD 50 GMS POWDERED SUGAR, BEAT TILL CREAMY
  4. ADD 1 TSP VANILLA ESSENCE, 1 TSP HONEY, BEAT
  5. ADD THE DRY FLOUR MIX
  6. ADD SUFFICIENT COLD MILK, KNEAD INTO A DOUGH
  7. CLING WRAP THE DOUGH BALL, REFRIGERATE FOR 30 MINS
  8. ROLL OUT THE DOUGH BALL INTO APPROX 1 MM THICKNESS
  9. CUT INTO 1×2.5" SIZED RECTANGLES, PRICK HOLES
  10. PLACE ON A LINED BAKING TRAY, SPRINKLE SOME SUGAR ON TOP
  11. BAKE AT 150 DEGREES IN A PREHEATED OVEN FOR 10 MINS
  12. WHEN DONE, COOL ON WIRE RACK
  13. FOR FILLING- TAKE 1/2 CUP POWDERED SUGAR, 2 TBSP EACH OF COCOA POWDER & SOFTENED BUTTER
  14. ADD 1 TSP MILK, BEAT TILL SMOOTH
  15. TRANSFER IT TO A PIPING BAG
  16. PIPE THE FILLING BETWEEN THE BISCUITS
