Idli Dhoklas

Ingredients to make Idli Dhoklas

  • 1 cup besan
  • 1/2 cup suji
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 3-4 tablespoon curd
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • salt(to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon eno
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • For tadka :
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • Pinch of hing
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup water

How to make Idli Dhoklas

  1. TAKE 1 CUP GRAM FLOUR, ADD 1/2 CUP SEMOLINA, 1 TSP GRATED GINGER
  2. ADD 3-4 TBSP CURD
  3. ADD 1 TSP SUGAR, SALT TO TASTE, 1/4 TSP TURMERIC POWDER
  4. ADD SUFFICIENT WATER TO MAKE A SMOOTH BATTER, WHISK
  5. SQUEEZE THE JUICE OF HALF A LEMON
  6. ADD 1 TSP ENO, WHISK
  7. POUR BATTER INTO GREASED IDLI MOULDS
  8. STEAM FOR 30 MINS
  9. THE IDLI DHOKLAS ARE READY, KEEP ASIDE TO COOL, DE MOULD
  10. HEAT 1 TSP OIL, ADD 1 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS, A PINCH OF ASAFOETIDA, 8-10 CURRY LEAVES
  11. ADD 2-3 CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIES, 1 CUP WATER
  12. ADD SALT TO TASTE, 1 TSP SUGAR, BRING TO A BOIL
  13. POUR OVER THE IDLI DHOKLAS
