About Thandai firni Recipe

This is a perfect sweet dish for holi.

Thandai firni

Ingredients to make Thandai firni

  • 100 gm basmati rice
  • 1 ltr full cream milk
  • sugar as per taste
  • Thandai mix powder 2tbsp
  • saffron a pinch
  • rose essence 1tsp
  • 1tsp elaichi or green cardamom powder
  • Some blanched and chopped nuts

How to make Thandai firni

  1. Soak the rice for an hour
  2. Then grind it into a paste
  3. Heat milk and when the first boil comes add the soaked saffron in warm milk
  4. Boil for another 10 minutes in low flame
  5. Now add the thandai powder
  6. Then add the rice paste and keep stirring.
  7. When it becomes thick add sugar
  8. Cook for another few minutes
  9. Switch off the flame and add the rose essence and elaichi powder.
  10. Now transfer them in bowls and keep it in the refrigerator to set
  11. Add some blanched and chopped nuts
  12. Garnish with blanched and chopped nuts
