An easy curry that is served in a Kerala sadya

Vendakkya Pachadi /Ladiesfinger Pachadi

Ingredients to make Vendakkya Pachadi /Ladiesfinger Pachadi

  • Ladiesfinger - 250 gms
  • Fresh Grated coconut - 1 cup
  • curd - Half cup
  • green chilly - 1 or 2 ( adjust to taste )
  • mustard seeds - 1tspn
  • Dry red chilly - 2 broken
  • curry leaves - few
  • coconut Oil - 2 Tbspn
  • salt to taste
  • water for cooking

How to make Vendakkya Pachadi /Ladiesfinger Pachadi

  1. Wash the ladiesfinger and wipe them dry....
  2. Then cut into small pieces
  3. In a pan put oil & when hot add the chopped ladiesfinger
  4. Fry well till slight brown in colour
  5. Then in the meantime take a mixer jar & grind the grated coconut, jeera & green chilly to a smooth paste with the curd...
  6. Now pour the ground paste in the pan....Put salt....mix well....
  7. Add water if required....and bring to required consistency....
  8. Now in a tadka pan put oil & when hot add mustard seeds & broken red chilly and curry leaves
  9. After it splutters pour over the curry....
  10. Serve with rice & sambhar.
  11. Ready to serve
