Moong dal sambar

Ingredients to make Moong dal sambar

  • moong dal 1 cup
  • Small onion 10
  • garlic 10
  • tomato 1
  • carrot 1
  • Beans 5
  • potato 1
  • Green chilli 2
  • Sambar powder : 2 tsp
  • mustard seeds : ½ tsp
  • curry leaves
  • salt
  • oil : 2 tsp
  • turmeric Powder : ¼ tsp
  • cumin powder : ½ tsp
  • asafoetida 1 pinch
  • coriander leaves

How to make Moong dal sambar

  1. Steam cook the toor dal, carrot,beans and potato,beans, garlic for 10-15 min over medium flame and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, saute Mustard seeds,Curry leaves
  3. Add cooked dal and veg mix well and cook for 2 min
  4. Add salt,cumin powder, turmeric powder and cook for 2 - 3 min.
  5. Add sambar powder and cook for 3 min
  6. Add Asafoetida and coriander leaves and switch off the flame
