ABOUT Red chilli garlic dip RECIPE

A fiery hot chilli garlic dip, a great side dish for your meals and a perfect accompaniment to your snacks.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 10-15 dried red chillies
  2. 4 pods of garlic
  3. 3-4 medium sized tomatoes
  4. 2 lemons
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 1 tbsp sugar
  7. 1/4 cup water
  8. 1 tsp yellow mustard seeds
  9. 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
  10. 2 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Soak the red chillies in sufficient water for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Peel the garlic cloves and chop the tomatoes.
  3. In a grinder, make a smooth paste of red chillies, garlic and tomatoes, use a little water if required.
  4. Heat oil in a wok, put in fenugreek seeds and mustard seeds, when they start to crackle add garlic chilli paste along with sugar and salt.
  5. Add water, cover the wok and let it cook on medium flame for 5-6 minutes or till the oil starts to float on the surface. Sprinkle lemon juice and mix well.
  6. Let it cool and store it in a sterilized jar in the refrigerator for 2 weeks.
