ABOUT Goda Masala RECIPE

Goda Masala is a special aromatic spice blend used majorly in Maharashthrian cuisine which gives the food a unique flavour!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
  2. 6 tbsp sesame seeds
  3. 2 bay leaves
  4. 8-10 dried red chilies
  5. 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  6. 3/4th cup coriander seeds
  7. 1 stick of cinnamon
  8. 5-6 cloves
  9. 10-12 black peppercorns
  10. 1 tsp asafoetida
  11. 1/2 tsp salt
  12. 1 tsp turmeric powder

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the coconut and sesame seeds till it gets golden brown in colour.
  2. Roast all the other spices one by one with few drops of oil. Keep the heat on low to medium.
  3. Let them cool completely and grind into a fine powder. Store in the fridge in a clean and airtight container.

This masala is used in almost every subzi in Maharashtrian cuisine. Yes you use it in misal pawo. Yes you can also add curry leaves and dagadi fool but recipe shared is authentic one, by the time people made differences.I am Maharashtrian that's why I am telling this. Thanks deepti for sharing recipe
