ABOUT Oats Nut Crispbread RECIPE

Delicious, light, addictive, versatile and simple to make, this Oats Nut Crispbread is very addictive and makes quite the perfect snack for a hungry nibble. If you are adventurous enough, you can even bake the dough into bite sized shells for canapes!

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 160 gm Whole wheat flour
  2. 115 g Oats {1 cup}
  3. 40g Walnuts roughly chopped
  4. 20g white Sesame seeds
  5. 20g black Sesame seeds
  6. 1 ½ tsp Salt
  7. 1 ½ tsp Baking powder
  8. 1 tsp Garlic powder
  9. 2 tbsp/30 ml extra virgin Olive oil
  10.  cup/175 ml Water {approx}

Instructions

  1. Take two cookie sheets and line with parchment paper. Preheat your oven at 180C.
  2. Add flour, oats, salt, garlic powder and walnuts in a food processor bowl and pulse for few seconds until walnuts are chopped. Now add seeds and oil, pulse to mix.
  3. Take this into a large bowl and add ½ cup of water and knead to form smooth firm dough. Add more water if required.
  4. Leave the dough covered to rest for 15 minutes after kneading for 2-3 minutes on the counter.
  5. Dust the rolling surface with flour and roll out and cut into desired shapes using fluted pastry cutter/pizza cutter/knife.
  6. Gently place on prepared baking sheets and bake for 15-18 minutes or till lightly coloured and golden brown on the edges.
  7. Upon cooling store in an air tight container in a cool place and serve with dips on a cheese board etc.
