About Gil e firdous Recipe

Gil e firdous is traditionally hyderabadi dish. Specially made during marriages and get to gether at home. It is made with bottle guard and sabu dana.

Ingredients to make Gil e firdous

  • 1small bottle gourd
  • 1/2 cup sabo dana
  • 2 litre milk
  • 1/2 can milk maid
  • 100 gram khoya( sweetless)
  • Dry friuts of your choice
  • Pinch green colour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2table spoon ghee
  • Rose water
  • 1teaspoon cardamom powder

How to make Gil e firdous

  1. Peel and grate bottle gourd
  2. Soak sank Dana in water for 30 minutes and drain the water
  3. Chop dry fruits of your choice
  4. Boil milk till it reduce to 3/4
  5. Roast bottle gourd in ghee and keep aside
  6. When the milk boils add sabo Dana and cook till sabo Dana became soft
  7. Then add roasted lauki
  8. Add sugar and let it dissolve
  9. Now add khoya and stir well
  10. Add milk maid and cook till one boil
  11. Sim the gas, add chopped nuts, pinch green colour
  12. Off the gas finally add powder cardamom and rosewater.
  13. Garnish with remains dry fruits and serve chill or on room temperature.

My Tip:

U can serve this in mitti k kulhad garnish with silver warq
