About Basundi Recipe

Basundi is an Indian sweet mostly in Gujarat,Maharashtra.You may serve basundi hot,warm,cold or chilled,as you wish,but I serve basundi chilled.

Basundi

Ingredients to make Basundi

  • Milk 4 cups
  • Condensed milk 1/4 cup
  • saffron a pinch
  • almonds 6 chopped
  • pistachio 10 chopped
  • cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
  • Silver leaves

How to make Basundi

  1. Heat a heavy bottom pan,add milk.
  2. Boil milk on medium heat.
  3. Keep cooking the milk till it gets half quantity.
  4. Do stiring every 3-4 minutes.
  5. After 15 minutes the milk is its half quantity.
  6. Add condensed milk,saffron and simmer it for 5 minutes.
  7. Now it will be in thick consistency.
  8. Off the flame.
  9. Add basundi in serving bowl and keep it for cooling.
  10. After 30 minutes,add chopped almonds,pistachio,cardamom powder,saffron and silver leaves.
  11. Serve chilled.

My Tip:

You can add 2 tbsps of sugar in it.
