About Thandai from Sugar free Thandai Powder Recipe

This instant thandai, made from sugar free thandai powder, gets ready in a jiffy and tastes awesome.. Sweeten it with milkmaid or honey or just sugar. Ideal for weight watchers, diabetics.Keep this powder ready in your pantry. While serving just add it to chilled milk and serve.

Thandai from Sugar free Thandai Powder

Ingredients to make Thandai from Sugar free Thandai Powder

  • almonds 60 gms
  • cashews 60 gms
  • Green pistachios 60 gms
  • melon seeds 30 gms
  • poppy seeds (khuskhus) 30 gms
  • fennel seeds (Saunf) 30 gms
  • peppercorns (1kali mirch) 10 o 12 pieces
  • Green cardamom 15 to 16 pieces
  • Nutmeg Powder (jaiphal) 2 teaspoon
  • Dried rose Petals 1 teaspoon
  • Chilled Milk 200 ml
  • Milkmaid or honey or Sugar 1 teaspoon
  • saffron 3 to 4 strands dissolved in 1 teaspoon milk
  • rose water 1/2 teaspoon
  • Slivered almonds 1 teaspoon

How to make Thandai from Sugar free Thandai Powder

  1. Grind almonds using pulse button in your mixie. This is done so that almonds do not release oil and remains dry only.
  2. Take cashews, pistachios, melon seeds, poppy seeds, fennel seeds, peppercorns, green cardamom in the grinder and powder it using pulse button.
  3. Mix almond powder, cashews etc powder, nutmeg powder and rose petals. Pass it through a sieve. Grind the leftovers again and mix in rest of the powder only. Your homemade sugar free thandai powder is ready. Keep it in an airtight container
  4. To make thandai, take 1 tablespoon thandai powder. Mix very little water/milk and make a paste of it.
  5. Add chilled milk, saffron milk and condensed milk to the above paste and mix in blender. Sprinkle rose water and slivered almonds and serve.

My Tip:

Make in advance and chill in the refrigerator. Use honey instead of condensed milk for sugar patients.
