This chutney always reminds of my childhood, my mom used to prepare this often as it is very good for health especially for hair growth.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Curry leaves - 1 to 1 and 1/2 cup, tightly packed
  2. Green chillies - 2 or 3
  3. Tamarind - a small piece
  4. Small onions - 3 to 4
  5. Roasted channa dhal (pottukkadalai) - 1/2 tbsp
  6. Salt as required
  7. Water as required
  8. Oil- 1 and 1/2 tsp
  9. Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Wash the curry leaves and drain the water. Keep aside.
  2. Add in curry leaves, green chillies, small onions / big onion, tamarind, roasted channa dhal, salt and grated coconut in the mixer or blender.
  3. First grind it without water to form a coarse paste. Adjust the consistency as required by adding water and grind to a smooth paste. Transfer it to a suitable container.
  4. Take another pan, add oil and season with mustard seeds. Pour it over the chutney.
  5. Now the chutney is ready to be served.
