Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. For kofta :
  2. Carrots grated 250 grams
  3. Salt 1 teaspoon
  4. Chilly powder 1 teaspoon
  5. Green chilli (Cut into very small pieces) 1
  6. gram flour (to bind) 2 tablespoon
  7. Butter 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon
  8. Oil for frying
  9. For gravy :
  10. tomato puree 1 cup
  11. Milk 1 cup
  12. Turmeric 1/2teaspoon
  13. Red chilly powder 1 teaspoon
  14. Garam masala 1 teaspoon
  15. Dhaniya powder 1 teaspoon
  16. Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  17. Salt according to taste
  18. Asofaetida 1 pinch water 1/2cup
  19. Ginger chopped 1 inch
  20. Onion chopped 1/2cup
  21. For Garnishing :
  22. Coriander leaves
  23. Cream

Instructions

  1. Kofta preparation :
  2. First saute onion and ginger in 1 teaspoon butter . When sauted then blend and make paste.
  3. Heat the pan. put the grated carrot and simmer for 2 minutes, then cover and leave for 5 minutes on a low flame till all water evaporates.
  4. When the carrot turns a little soft, remove the pan from the heat and let it cool.
  5. Mix the other ingredients except the oil for deep frying.
  6. Make small balls out of it, about the size of a ping pong ball.
  7. Heat the oil for deep-frying. Now deep-fry the balls till they turn brown in colour. Remove them from the oil and keep aside .
  8. Gravy preparation :
  9. Now put the pan on the gas add butter in it. Put cumin seeds and asofaetida in the butter.
  10. When they crackle, add the ready onion paste in it saute it till fat separates.
  11. Add spices to it and put the tomato puree in the pan. Saute for another 5 minutes.
  12. Add milk and Boil it for 5-7 minutes. Add salt to taste. Gravy is ready.
  13. Pour gravy in serving tray and drop the koftas in it.
  14. Garnish with cream and coriander leaves.
  15. Enjoy yummy creamy curry with rice, chapati or naan.
