About Sprouts stuffed potato cups in gravy Recipe

This is a new trial that i made with mixed sprouts and the outcome was great. In this receipe ,potatoes are made into boat shaped cups and sprouts masala is filled in it .It is then added to gravy. This is a healthy recipe and can be given to kids who dont eat sprouts as they will be unaware that potatoes are stuffed with sprouts.

Ingredients to make Sprouts stuffed potato cups in gravy

  • Equal sized potatoes-6
  • tomato puree 1cup
  • onion paste -1/2 cup
  • ginger Garlic Paste-1 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder-1/2 teaspoon
  • chilli powder-1 teaspoon
  • dhania powder-1 teaspoon
  • garam masala-1/2 teaspoon
  • Milk -2 tablespoons
  • salt as required
  • sugar -1/4 teaspoon
  • Kasuri methi -1/4 teaspoon
  • coriander leaves little
  • jeera -1 teaspoon
  • oil - For shallow fry
  • For stuffing
  • Mixed sprouts-1/2 cup
  • Green chilli paste-1 teaspoon
  • onion-1
  • salt
  • pepper powder-1/2 teaspoon
  • lemon juice-1 teaspoon

How to make Sprouts stuffed potato cups in gravy

  1. Boil the sprouts with water in Cooker for 1 whistle .Drain the water and keep aside
  2. Boil potatoes with enough water and salt until it is half cooked.Now drain the water remove the skin cut into equal halves and scoop the potatoes in it to form cups.keep the scooped potatoes in a cup to use later in stuffing.
  3. In a kadai add a teaspoon of oil and add green chilli paste to it and fry for 2 minutes.then add cooked sprouts ,scooped portion of potatoes,salt , pepper powder to it and Saute for a minute. Then switch off the flame and add lemon juice to it. .Now the stuffing is ready
  4. Fill the potato cups with this stuffing.
  5. Now mix little water with maida to form a paste .seal the stuffed potato cups with maida paste and shallow fry them in oil so that the stuffing doesn't come out while adding to gravy.
  6. Now in a kadai add 2 tablespoon of oil ,add jeera to splutter.then add ground onion ,ginger garlic paste,salt, tomato puree to it. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder an garam masala to it and fry in low flame until the oil seperates.
  7. Then add milk and sugar to it.finally add the potato cups to it ,cook for 5 minutes and switch off. Garnish with coriander leaves, kasuri methi and serve.

My Tip:

Cook potatoes carefully as ,if over cooked it will be difficult to make cups .
