About PESHAWARI HALWA Recipe

Peshawari halwa is made of rawa but with totally different cooking method, taste and texture from regular suzi halwa. It's tastes a bit like dal halwa.

PESHAWARI HALWA

Ingredients to make PESHAWARI HALWA

  • Rawa 1/2 cup
  • Milk 1/2 cup
  • sugar 1/2 cup
  • Desi ghee 1/4 cup
  • Chopped almonds 1 tbsp
  • cardamom powder a pinch

How to make PESHAWARI HALWA

  1. SOAK HALF CUP RAWA IN HALF CUP OF MILK.
  2. REST THE MIXTURE FOR 15 MINUTES.
  3. IN A NON STICK PAN HEAT TOGETHER 1/4 CUP OF DESI GHEE AND 1/2 CUP OF SUGAR.
  4. COOK UNTIL SUGAR MELTS AND CARAMELIZE.
  5. AS SOON SUGAR MELTS COMPLETELY STOP HEAT.
  6. ADD 1 TBSP CHOPPED ALMONDS AND SOAKED RAWA MIXTURE.
  7. MIX IT WELL QUICKLY AND CAREFULLY AS GHEE AND SUGAR ARE VERY HOT.
  8. WHEN MIXED WELL ADD A PINCH OF CARDAMOM POWDER AND COOK AGAIN ON LOW HEAT.
  9. COOK TILL WHOLE MIXTURE COMES TOGETHER.
  10. GARNISH WITH CHOPPED ALMONDS AND ROSE PETALS. SERVE HOT.
