Ingredients to make Noodles from scratch

  • Maida - 1 cup
  • Salt
  • Water to knead the dough
  • Oil - 1 teaspoon + 1 tablespoon
  • Sliced onion
  • 1/4 cup Sliced bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup Sliced tomatoes
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper powder
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • Spices of choice

How to make Noodles from scratch

  1. Take maida and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Add very little water to make a stiff dough. Cover and allow dough to rest for half an hour.
  2. Knead again to make it smooth. (Note: Do not add water)
  3. Now take big lemon size balls of the dough and roll them out. (Note: Do not roll very thin) Take a sharp knife and cut very thin strips of noodles out of the flattened dough.
  4. Put noodles into the boiling water for a minute and drain them in a colander.
  5. Now heat a tablespoon of oil in a wok. Add garlic and onion. Saute it a little.
  6. Add bell pepper and tomatoes. Saute it again. Add salt, pepper powder and spices of your choice.
  7. Toss in the noodles and cook on a high flame for a minute.
  8. Noodles can be enjoyed just like that or with a side dish.
My Tip: You may also add egg, chicken or shrimp into noodles.
