About Chicken curry with cauliflower and potato Recipe

It's one of the culinary dishes from Bangladesh. We bongs love to add veggies to our dishes prepared with fish or chicken. It makes a wholesome platter where you can get veggies along with the protein.

Ingredients to make Chicken curry with cauliflower and potato

  • 1 kg of chicken both thigh and leg pieces.
  • 2 tablespoon each of garlic and ginger paste
  • 2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 2 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • Bay leaf and dry red chilli is optional.
  • 1 tablespoon of haldi [turmeric powder]
  • dry roasted cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • Fresh cilantro for garnishing.
  • olive oil to cook and salt to taste.
  • Panch phoron for tempering - 2 tsp
  • cauliflower florets around 15 pieces
  • potatoes - 1 [cubed]

How to make Chicken curry with cauliflower and potato

  1. Wash and marinate the chicken with olive oil, salt & haldi.
  2. Take a wok and add olive oil and then panch phoron( fennel seeds, nigella seeds, cumin, ajwain, fenugreek seeds).
  3. Then add the chicken pieces and fry for some time.
  4. After 5 mins of frying add ginger garlic paste and saute for another 5 mins.
  5. Then add the powder ingredients and tomatoes.
  6. Mix them well and saute for another 10 mins until oil comes out of the Masala.
  7. After that add the cauliflower and the potatoes.
  8. I prefer not to fry the veggies before hand and add them directly to the chicken.
  9. Add salt and green chilli and warm water and cover with a lid.
  10. When the chicken is cooked properly add the fresh cilantro and 1 teaspoon of dry roasted cumin powder.
  11. Garnish by sprinkling 1 tablespoon of olive oil on it.
