About Kheeranand Recipe

Its sweet which I learned from my nani. Its thicker than kheer as mire rice. Rice roasted in ghee gives this sweet a unique taste

Kheeranand

Ingredients to make Kheeranand

  • 1 cup of rice soaked for 20 min
  • 1 ltr full cream milk
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped dry fruits( raisins must)
  • Few strands of kesar mixed in warm milk
  • 5-6 tbspn of ghee
  • cardamom powder

How to make Kheeranand

  1. TAKE MILK, RICE, GHEE, SUGAR, DRYFRUITS, KESAR
  2. TAKE GHEE IN A HEATED PAN
  3. ADD SOAKED AND DRAINED RICE
  4. STIR IT FOR SOME TIME
  5. ADD MILK AND STIR CONTINUOUSLY
  6. LET IT BOIL AND KEEP STIRRING TO AVOID STICKING AT THE BOTTOM
  7. BOIL TILL THE MILK EVAPORATES
  8. ADD SUGAR AND KEEP STIRRING FOR 10 MORE MINUTES. THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY MILK
  9. ADD KESAR DISSOLVED IN WARM MILK
  10. ADD CARDAMOM POWDER
  11. ADD CHOPPED DRYFRUITS
