Warm Broccoli and Almond Salad

Ingredients to make Warm Broccoli and Almond Salad

  • 1.5 cup medium size florets of a Broccoli
  • 1 tsp Roasted Garlic / Fresh garlic minced
  • 1/4th cup Almond flakes
  • 1/8th cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds (white)
  • 1/2 tsp Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

How to make Warm Broccoli and Almond Salad

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add sesame, garlic and almond flakes. Saute until sesame starts to splutter. Take out into a bowl and set aside.
  2. Add broccoli and season with salt. Add half of water and cook covered on medium flame for 2 minutes.
  3. When the water evaporates, insert a knife and check whether broccoli is cooked or not. {Don’t turn it mushy}.
  4. Add more water if broccoli is not cooked. To retain green color of broccoli, take cooked broccoli in a bowl and place it over another bowl of cold water.
  5. When the broccoli is still warm (not hot) add in sesame and almonds. Toss and serve with love.
