About Black masoor dal !! Recipe

A healthy simple recipe of a delicious dal, to be served with some steamed hot rice on the side.

Black masoor dal !!

Ingredients to make Black masoor dal !!

  • Black masoor dal - 1 big cup
  • onion - 2 finely chopped
  • tomato- 2 finely chopped
  • ginger & Garlic - 1tbspn chopped
  • green chilly- 2 finely chopped
  • turmeric powder- 1/2 tspn
  • red chilly pwdr - 1 tspn
  • Goda masala - 1 tspn
  • ghee- 1 tspn
  • oil- 1 tbspn
  • mustard seeds - 1 tspn
  • jeera- half tspn
  • coriander leaves for garnish
  • salt to taste

How to make Black masoor dal !!

  1. Wash the dal and pressure cook it and keep aside
  2. Now take a kadai put oil and ghee...When hot put mustard and jeera
  3. After it splutters put the chopped ginger,garlic,green chilly & onions....Saute well for a few minutes....
  4. Then put the masalas.....And salt.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes.....Cook till soft.....
  6. Now add the cooked dal.... Pour sufficient water and bring to boil ....
  7. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
  8. Serve hot with rice or roti
