About Kung Pao Popcorn Recipe

This is the recipe of a fusion dish, made with popcorns infused with the chinese flavours. A perfect snack for special occasions.

Kung Pao Popcorn

Ingredients to make Kung Pao Popcorn

  • Act II butter popcorn 5 cups ,Popped
  • onion 1 diced
  • capsicum 1 diced
  • cashew 2 tbsp roasted
  • White sesame seeds 1 1/2 tsp roasted
  • Red chillie sauce 2 tbsp
  • vinegar 1 tbsp
  • Soy sauce 1 tsp
  • all purpose flour 2 tbsp
  • water 1/4 cup
  • sugar 1/2 tsp
  • oil 2 tbsp
  • salt to taste

How to make Kung Pao Popcorn

  1. POP THE CORN IN THE MICROWAVE AS PER THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE PACKET
  2. REMOVE IN A BOWL, KEEP ASIDE
  3. MIX 2 TBSP FLOUR & 1/4 CUP WATER INTO A SMOOTH SLURRY, KEEP ASIDE
  4. HEAT 2 TBSP OIL, ADD 1 DICED ONION, TOSS FOR A FEW SECONDS
  5. ADD 1 DICED CAPSICUM, COOK TILL SOFT
  6. ADD 2 TBSP RED CHILLI SAUCE, FRY FOR 1 MINUTE
  7. ADD 1 TSP SOY SAUCE
  8. ADD 1 TBSP VINEGAR
  9. ADD 1 TSP SUGAR & STIR
  10. ADD 5 CUPS OF THE READY POPCORN
  11. ADD A PINCH OF SALT, MIX
  12. ADD THE FLOUR SLURRY, MIX & COOK FOR 2 MINS, TAKE OFF HEAT
  13. SPRINKLE 2 TBSP TOASTED CASHEWS, 1.5 TSP TOASTED SESAME SEEDS
