ABOUT Coriander/Dhaniya Chutney RECIPE

A different variation of routine coriander chutneys, this is an absolute hit and a great accompaniment with steaming hot idlis.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Oil - 1 tablespoon
  2. Onions (finely sliced) - 2 small
  3. Green chilli 2 - 3 (as per taste)
  4. Dry red chilli 1 - 2 (as per taste)
  5. Fresh Coriander - 1 medium sized bunch
  6. Fresh Coconut (grated) 1/2 cup
  7. Garlic 3 - 4 cloves
  8. Salt as per taste
  9. Tamarind - 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat oil and fry finely sliced onions till they are light brown.
  2. Add green chillies, red chilly and fry.
  3. Stir in roughly chopped coriander leaves and salt .
  4. Add tamarind and close the lid for few minutes.
  5. Turn off the flame, allow the ingredients to cool and then transfer them into a small mixer jar.
  6. Adding a little water at a time grind into a coarse paste.
