Ingredients to make Apple Upside Down Cake

  • Fruit layer Ingredients:-
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3 apples sliced thin
  • Cake Ingredients:-
  • 3 tablespoon milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 ½ cups sifted cake flour (see below in Tips)
  •  cup sugar
  •  tsp baking powder
  • ĵ teaspoon salt
  • 13 tablespoon unsalted butter softened [184 gms]

How to make Apple Upside Down Cake

  1. Preheat your oven to 180Celsius.Thoroughly grease the cake container with butter. Spray the sugar in the container and align the apple slices. Set this container aside.
  2. Stir together the ingredients, milk, eggs and vanilla in a medium size bowl.
  3. Take a separate large bowl and place the dry ingredients into it, stir this mixture on low speed for 30 seconds until it is finely blended.
  4. Put in the butter and half the egg mixture, combine well. Beat this mixture for one minute on medium speed.
  5. Beat in the remaining egg mixture in two batches. Carefully fill in the batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 55-65 mins till a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
  7. Cool on a rack for 10 minutes before shifting it onto a greased wire rack.

My Tip:

To make cake flour at home - take one cup of all purpose flour and remove 2 tablespoon from it. Replace the 2 tablespoon flour with corn flour instead and sift together 2 to 3 times. Your cake flour is ready for baking.
