About Mangai Pachadi Recipe

A tasty south indian sweet pachadi. Irresistable with curd rice.

Mangai Pachadi

Ingredients to make Mangai Pachadi

  • 1 medium size Killimuku/ mango (raw)
  • jaggery 200 gms
  • Seasonings :
  • ginger 1 small piece
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp oil

How to make Mangai Pachadi

  1. Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds. Allow them to splutter then add cut green chilli and ginger.
  2. Add the sliced mango pieces to the seasoning and pour water until the mango is completely immersed.
  3. When the mango turns soft, add the jaggery (scrape the jaggery well). Cook well until raw smell leaves and let it thicken to pouring consistency.

My Tip:

Can be cooled and stored in a glass bottle. Has a shelf life of more than a week when refrigerated.
