Vaazhaithandu poriyal( Banana stem)

Ingredients to make Vaazhaithandu poriyal( Banana stem)

  • banana stem- chopped into pieces and added in butter milk
  • Red chillies- 1 big cut in to half
  • mustard seed- 1tsp
  • urad dal- 1 tsp
  • coconut oil- 1 tsp For tadka
  • salt- to taste

How to make Vaazhaithandu poriyal( Banana stem)

  1. Take kadayi add oil
  2. Once oil is hot add mustard seeds after it splutters add urad dal and red chillies
  3. Add chopped and strained banana stem give a little fry
  4. Add salt
  5. Keep stir frying till its well cooked
  6. Switch off the gas and serve hot

My Tip:

Banana stem should be chopped and added in butter milk otherwise it will turn brown or black
