Delicious melting in mouth indian rice pudding flavoured with aromatic saffron , with yummy crunch of dry fruits , ideal dessert for any occasion. Tastes best when served chilled.

Kesariya Chawal Ki Kheer

Ingredients to make Kesariya Chawal Ki Kheer

  • Washed and soaked basmati rice 1 tablespoon
  • Whole Milk 1 litre
  • sugar 3/4 th cup (or as per taste)
  • saffron 2 pinches
  • cardamom powder 2 pinches
  • Roughly chopped almonds and cashew nuts 1 tablespoon each ( or any other dry fruits of your choice)
  • ghee 1/2 tablespoon

How to make Kesariya Chawal Ki Kheer

  1. WASHED AND SOAKED BASMATI RICE AND WHOLE MILK
  2. CHOPPED MIXED DRY FRUITS, SAFFRON , SUGAR AND CARDAMOM FOR FLAVOUR
  3. HEAT GHEE IN A PAN
  4. REMOVE EXCESS WATER FROM SOAKED RICE AND ADD TO PAN
  5. ADD CHOPPED DRY FRUITS TOO AND SAUTE TILL LIGHT GOLDEN
  6. SAUTE ON LOW HEAT
  7. NOW ADD MILK AND MIX WELL
  8. COOK WITH CONSISTENT STIRRING TILL RICE SOFTENS, ADD SOME MORE MILK IF REQUIRED
  9. ADD SUGAR AND SAFFRON , MIX WELL AND COOK AGAIN
  10. COOK TILL SUGAR DISSOLVES
  11. LET IT COOL FOR SOME TIME AND ADD CARDAMOM POWDER
  12. DELICIOUS KESARIYA CHAWAL KI KHEER IS READY , SERVE HOT OR COLD IT TASTES EQUALLY YUM
