ABOUT Red Chilli Chutney RECIPE

Feeling cold this winter and want to eat something spicy with idlis? Try this chutney which is also very easy and quick to make.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Small Onion - 1 cup
  2. Garlic Pods 2
  3. Red Chilli 2
  4. Tamarind 1/2 gooseberry size
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Gingelly / Sesame Oil 1/2 tbsp
  7. Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
  8. Urad Dal 1/2 tsp
  9. Curry Leaves 1/2 spring

Instructions

  1. Grind the red chilli, tamarind and salt with little water using the mixer jar.
  2. Then add the chopped onion and garlic pods. Grind them into a fine paste with only a little water. Transfer the chutney into the serving bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds and wait for them to pop. Then add the urad dal and curry leaves. Saute for a few seconds.
  4. Pour this temper into the chutney and mix them well together.
