About Mushroom Masala Recipe

Mushrooms cooked in a spicy onion tomato based gravy.

Mushroom Masala

Ingredients to make Mushroom Masala

  • 200 gms mushrooms (Sliced)
  • 3 large onions (chopped)
  • 2 large tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 green chillies (chopped)
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp ginger Garlic Paste
  • 2 tbs oil
  • salt to taste

How to make Mushroom Masala

  1. Heat oil and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add green chillies and fry for a minute. Add onions and saute till they brown.
  2. Add tomatoes. Cover and cook till soft. Mash a little with the spoon.
  3. Add the coriander, turmeric and garam masala. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell of ginger garlic goes away.
  4. Add the mushrooms and saute for a few minutes.
  5. Add water as required to make a gravy. Cover and cook till the gravy comes to a boil.
  6. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.
