About Lemon/Lime Pickle Recipe

This is a delicious lemon / lime pickle.

Lemon/Lime Pickle

Ingredients to make Lemon/Lime Pickle

  • 10 lemons
  • 1 cup oil or olive oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 50 gms Red chillies (Byadagi chillies /South Indian chillies)
  • 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp asafoetida

How to make Lemon/Lime Pickle

  1. Take a heavy bottomed pan. Heat oil, add mustard and allow to splutter, then add the asafoetida (hing).
  2. Add chopped lemon into the oil slowly. Cook the lemon in the oil till its soft.
  3. Turn off the flame. Take a wok, fry the chillies and fenugreek seeds on a medium flame.
  4. Make a dry powder. Add into the lemons, stir well then add salt and mix well.
  5. Keep the pickle outside (normal temperature) for one or two days.
  6. After 2 days saute it well and then transfer into the pickle jar. Keep it refrigerated.
