Ingredients to make Moradabadi Dal

  • moong dal 2 cups
  • red chilli powder 1/4 tsp
  • Roasted cumin powder 1/4 tsp
  • ginger juliennes 2 tsp
  • Black pepper power 1/2 tsp
  • Black salt 1 /4 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Amul butter 50 gms
  • lemon juice 4 tsp
  • Chat masala 1/2 tsp
  • 2 red chilli fried

How to make Moradabadi Dal

  1. WASH 2 CUPS MOONG DAL & SOAK IN WATER FOR 20 MINUTES.
  2. PRESSURE COOK THE DAL IN 5 CUPS OF WATER, ADD SALT TO TASTE.
  3. TAKE 4 WHISTLES ON HIGH FLAME.
  4. AFTER 4 WHISTLES, MASH DAL WITH SPOON LIKE THIS.
  5. TRANSFER HOT DAL IN SERVING BOWL. ADD 2 TSP GINGER JULIENNES, 1/4 TSP ROASTED CUMIN POWDER.
  6. ADD 1/2 TSP CHAT MASALA, 1/4 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER
  7. ADD1/4 TSP BLACK SALT, 1/4 TSP BLACK PEPPER POWDER.
  8. ADD 4 TSP LEMON JUICE, 2 TSP GREEN CORRIANDER.
  9. ADD 50 GMS AMUL BUTTER, MIX WELL.
  10. GARNISH WITH 2 TSP TADKA OF ASAFOETIDA & CUMIN SEEDS.
  11. GARNISH WITH 2 FRIED RED CHILLI ON TOP.
  12. MORADABADI DAL ALWAYS SERVE HOT.
