Basundi is a traditional Indian dessert and is basically thickened milk flavoured with cardamom powder and saffron.Here is a traditional recipe to make it

Ingredients to make basundi

  • 1 liter milk
  • 1 cup milk powder
  • sugar - 4 tbsp
  • cardamom powder - 1/4 th tsp
  • saffron [few strands]
  • Chopped dry fruits of your choice [ handful]

How to make basundi

  1. HEAT 1 LITER FULLCREAM MILK IN A HEAVY BOTTOM PAN.
  2. WHEN MILK IS ALMOST REDUCED TO HALF, ADD SUGAR
  3. THEN ADD 1 CUP MILK POWDER
  4. ADD SAFFRON SOAKED IN MILK,
  5. ADD CHOPPED DRYFRUIT
  6. ADD CARDAMOM POWDER
  7. COOK FOR ANOTHER 2-3 MINUTES.
  8. CHILL NICELY BEFORE SERVING.
