About Doodhi (bottle guard) Kheer Recipe

Trust me it is light and tasty.

Doodhi (bottle guard) Kheer

Ingredients to make Doodhi (bottle guard) Kheer

  • ghee 2 tablespoon
  • 1/2 doodhi small size
  • Milk 4 cups
  • sugar 3/4 cup (as per your taste)
  • A pinch of elaichi powder
  • Chopped Mixed dry fruits as per your choice (I used almonds, cashew nuts, pistachios)

How to make Doodhi (bottle guard) Kheer

  1. In a pot mix milk and sugar and bring it boil. Boil it on a low flame for about 8-10 minutes to make a little thicker consistency.
  2. In a sauce pan put in ghee and grated doodhi and stir fry about two minutes.
  3. Add boiling milk and sugar mixture in doodhi and boil it till the doodhi cooks for about 5 minutes.
  4. Add elaichi powder and garnish with chopped dry fruits.
  5. Serve it hot.

My Tip:

Do not over cook doodhi. Just stir fry for a crunchy taste. Grate the doodhi just before you start it cook, otherwise it will turn black.
