Ingredients to make Moradabadi Dal

  • moong dal 2 cups
  • red chilli powder 1/4 tsp
  • Roasted cumin powder 1/4 tsp
  • ginger juliennes 2 tsp
  • Black pepper power 1/2 tsp
  • Black salt 1 /4 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Amul butter 50 gms
  • lemon juice 4 tsp
  • Chat masala 1/2 tsp
  • 2 red chilli fried

How to make Moradabadi Dal

  1. WASH 2 CUPS MOONG DAL, SOAK IN WATER FOR 20 MINS
  2. PRESSURE COOK IN 5 CUPS WATER, ADD SALT TO TASTE, COOK UPTO 4 WHISTLES ON HIGH HEAT
  3. MASH THE DAL LIGHTLY
  4. TO SERVE - ADD 2 TSP GINGER JULIENNES, 1/4 TSP ROASTED CUMIN POWDER
  5. ADD 1/2 TSP CHAT MASALA, 1/4 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER
  6. ADD 1/4 TSP ROCK SALT, 1/4 TSP PEPPER POWDER
  7. ADD 4 TSP LEMON JUICE, 2 TSP FRESH CORIANDER
  8. ADD 50 GMS BUTTER, MIX WELL
  9. GARNISH WITH 2 TSP FRESH TADKA IN GHEE OF ASAFOETIDA, CUMIN SEEDS & DRY RED CHILLIES
  10. MORADABADI DAL IS READY, SERVE HOT
