Ingredients to make Mawa gujiya

  • 250 g.Refined flour
  • 100 g.Butter
  • Water for dough
  • Dry fruits chopped - as per choice
  • 4 pinches Cardamom powder
  • 100 g Sugar powder
  • 250. Mawa/khoya
  • Ghee for fry the dry fruits
  • Silver leaves(varq)
  • Gujiya cutter

How to make Mawa gujiya

  1. Make a dough with the flour, butter and water.
  2. Chop all dry fruits and shallow fry in ghee.
  3. Mix mawa & cardamom powder into the dry fruits.
  4. Add sugar powder.
  5. Mix properly.
  6. Roll out dough into a small chapati and place on the gujiya cutter, stuff with filling and seal with a little water. Preheat oven at 180 deg C.
  7. Bake the gujiyas for 12-15 minutes.
  8. Use silver leaves(varq) for garnish

My Tip:

Dry fruits should be shallow fried not deep fried.
