About kar Adai Recipe

This is a delicious and easy sweet made with rice flour.

kar Adai

Ingredients to make kar Adai

  • rice flour 1 cup
  • jaggary 1 cup
  • water 2 cup
  • raisins 1 table spoon
  • Dry coconut 1 table spoon
  • elaichi [cardamom] powder 1 tea spoon

How to make kar Adai

  1. Roast the rice flour on a tawa for few minutes. Keep aside.
  2. Fry the raisins in some ghee, keep aside. Cut the coconut into small pieces.
  3. Now boil the jaggary with some water, to melt it.
  4. Now add the raisins and coconut to the cooking jaggary water.
  5. Now add the rice flour and stir well.
  6. Add the cardamom powder as well and mix. Stir well so that there are no lumps.
  7. Once it forms a dough, knead well and form small ball of the dough. Shape them as vadas.
  8. Now steam these in idli steamer for 20 minutes. Serve.
