Its a maharshtrian dish called' waran phal' ..resembles daal dhokali.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Aata- 1 cup
  2. Presure cooked Toor daal-4 cups
  3. Chopped Onions- 1
  4. Chopped garlic -5
  5. Chopped Tomatoes-2
  6. oil
  7. Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
  8. Jeera- 1/2 tsp
  9. Sesame seeds- 1/2 tsp
  10. Turmeric Powder- 1 tsp
  11. Red chilli powder as per taste
  12. Salt
  13. Asafotida- a pinch
  14. Aamchur - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Take aata in a mixing bowl. Add salt, turmeric powder, sesame seeds, 1 tbsp oil and mix well. Knead it into a dough.
  2. Make 6 balls out of the dough and roll them into thick puri. Keep it aside .
  3. Heat some oil in a kadhai. Put mustard seeds, jira and let them splutter .
  4. Add chopped garlic, onions and tomatoes. Saute.
  5. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder,garam masala powder, salt , amchur powder. Saute.
  6. Now add the cooked toor daal . Add some water. Let it boil.
  7. Now , put the made puris into the boiling daal . Let them cook . Garnish with coriander. Serve hot .
