About Mishti Doi Recipe

Mishti Doi or sweet curd is a famous bengali sweet. prepared from thick milk which later converted to thick sweet yogurt. Mild, light and extremely addictive this makes a great dessert option when entertaining guests over an Indian meal. The sweetness is lent from lightly caramelised sugar and traditionally the curd is set in earthen pots. Serve the Mishti Doi at a dinner party or for a weekend post-meal treat.

Ingredients to make Mishti Doi

  • 1/2 litre milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp dahi

How to make Mishti Doi

  1. HEAT THE MILK AND LET IT BOIL.
  2. LET IT BOIL ON MEDIUM FLAME FOR 8-10 MINUTES.
  3. STIR IT CONTINUOSLY.
  4. ADD CARDAMOM POWDER AND MIX WELL.
  5. IN A SAUCE PAN,ADD SUGAR AND CARAMELIZE IT.
  6. LET IT BECOME LIQUID FORM.
  7. IN THE BOILED MILK,ADD CARAMELIZED SUGAR.
  8. MIX WELL....
  9. ADD DAHI AND MIX WELL...
  10. POUR THE MILK IN A CLAY CONTAINER OR GLASS CONTAINER.
  11. KEEP IT IN WARM PLACE FOR 8-10 HOURS.
  12. MISHTI DOI IS READY!
