About Floating starter. Recipe

This is interesting and very delicious starter which is sold as a street food in city of Baroda.I personally love this starter.This bhajis floats in tangy water.They tastes really awsome .Theae are perfect snacks for summer season as they are served chilled.

Floating starter.

Ingredients to make Floating starter.

  • For bhaji (pakora )....
  • green chillies thick and small 8(less spicy one)
  • sugar 1 tbsp
  • Aamchur 1 tbsp
  • salt to taste.
  • Batter for bhaji..
  • besan 4 to 5 tbsp heaped
  • salt to taste.
  • turmeric powder a pinch
  • red chilli pwd half tsp
  • For tangy water...
  • pudina leaves half cup
  • fresh coriander leaves 1 cup
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1 inch ginger piece
  • 1/4 cup imli soaked in 1 cup of water
  • paani puri masala 2 tsp
  • black salt half tsp
  • Roasted jeera pwd 1 tsp
  • jaljeera pwd half tsp
  • salt to taste.

How to make Floating starter.

  1. First of all slit green chillies and deseed it.
  2. Mix sugar ,salt and aamchur pwd together .
  3. Now stuff this sugar mixture in green chillies.
  4. Prepare batter by mixing Besan, haldi and red chilli pwd, salt,water.(it should be little thick than regular batter )(no soda is added)
  5. Deep fry pakoras by dipping in batter. (keep aside)
  6. To make tangy water grind mint leaves(Pudina ) ,coriander leaves, green chilly,ginger with some imli water.
  7. Add remaining imli water.
  8. Add jeera pwd,pani puri masala, salt,black salt,jaljeera pwd and keep in fridge to chill.
  9. Now add in pakoras before 20 mins of serving.

My Tip:

If little boondi,chopped onions,chopped boiled potatoes, are added in water it tastes more better.
